Dense is pleased to announce that the third annual JERSEY ART BOOK FAIR is returning to Jersey City Feb 21-23, 2025! Call for Exhibitors is now open!
We're so excited to grow the print-lover community that we're kicking off the fair with an extra day full of exciting programs! Then for the next two days, we'll celebrate over 150+ book artists, zine makers, small presses and indie publishers across genres and subjects.
Portals To Somewhere
For the second year in a row, Jersey Art Book Fair will be held in the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (CRRNJ). This site holds stories of hope, violence and transformation. We honor those stories by way of our inaugural theme, “Portals to Somewhere,” where we invite book artists, zine makers, and independent presses and publishers to respond with new works in print.
Alongside the fair will be two days of workshops, panels, installations, exhibitions, film showings, demos, readings, meditations, and festivities across Jersey City.
In addition to our main venue, attendees can shuttle across Jersey City to visit participating galleries and cultural centers. If you are a Jersey City-based organization and would like to participate, please email your interest to info@jerseyartbookfair.org.

About Liberty State Park
With the Manhattan skyline, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as a spectacular backdrop, Liberty State Park is one of the state's most dramatic parks. A green oasis in the heart of Metropolitan northern New Jersey, Liberty State Park serves as the gateway to the region’s rich natural, cultural and historical resources.
For the second year in a row, Jersey Art Book Fair will be held in the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (CRRNJ), a grand setting for much of New Jersey's transportation history in the northeast, sits prominently at the north end of the park. A two-mile promenade, Liberty Walk links two picnic and playground areas, the Nature Center and the CRRNJ Terminal while presenting visitors with a sweeping view of the Hudson River. Wide open fields, miles of pathways and an outdoor performance area provide an inviting atmosphere for all types of recreation. The Liberty Landing Marina, restaurants and the NJ Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial complete the northern end of the park, while the western portion is dominated by the recently expanded, state-of-the-art Liberty Science Center.
New to 2024! Liberty State Park Shuttle Pilot Program offers a free, convenient, and accessible way to explore the park’s highlights, connecting passengers to most popular destinations, parking facilities, and public transportation. The shuttle operates across the entirety of Liberty State Park, operating along Audrey Zapp Drive and Freedom Way with stops at the Liberty Science Center, Light Rail Station, Statue of Liberty & NYC Ferries and Liberty Landing Marina, Statue of Liberty Ferry, North Picnic Area & Playground, Nature Center, South Picnic Area & Park Office and Parking & Hudson River Waterfront Walk.
Located directly on the shores of the Hudson River, Liberty State Park is also the only location in New Jersey with Ferry service to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
About Dense Magazine
Dense explores our social, cultural and environmental futures through the lens of New Jersey. Leveraging the platforms of print, digital media and community programs, Dense brings groundbreaking stories to life by looking to America’s most densely populated state when designing for an ever more complicated future.
Catalyzing Dense’s approach to storytelling are 10 historical or predicted events, such as the 1951 opening of the NJ Turnpike, the Paterson Silk Strikes of 1913, and the year 2150. Through each event, Dense explores their interconnected effects across histories and futures, spanning BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, immigrant, and lesser-known narratives.
Behind each story is a community of contributors at the forefront of making change – from advancements in labor practices, reparations, and biodiversity to resilient models of infrastructure, food security and human rights. Launching this year, Dense’s Fellowship Program invites cohorts of multidisciplinary practitioners into the collaborative production of new works, in partnership with community-engaged organizations across the state and nation.
